clearly, all of the figures are, in fact, you. as artist/subject, you seem to be portraying yourself at once dead and alive. existing yet not existing. if i had to guess, you have failed at reviving yourself as object (your efforts evidenced in figure 1), and the anguish of that failure is clearly expressed in the posturing of your conscious self (figure 2).
also to note is the subtle presence of the animal as spirit guide (dog, figure 1), whose impact is less felt in figure 2.
